A photo campaign of relatives of mentally ill people all over Germany on the occasion of the International Day of Mental Health

Stand up for the visibility of relatives of people with mental illness: With a selfie and a statement, you send a signal against false shame, against discrimination and for a strong community of relatives. Because we are many. And we also have a story.

Here’s how you can participate:

Create a selfie and send it along with a short statement of yourself describing how you are doing with your role as a relative (max. 120 characters). We then combine them into an action card and publish it on our channels as part of Mental Health Week.

Get involved and make a difference!

Please send your photo and statement by e-mail to: heise@apk-berlin.de.

Note: By submitting your photo, you agree to its publication without a name. You may revoke this consent at any time.

Dear relatives,

the group of vaccinated people is growing and  we would like to enable all relatives to meet in person again - of course, while adhering to our hygiene concept and trusting that we will protect each other.

Many of our self-help groups take place in person at the office in Wilmersdorf and at other locations in Berlin, while others offer the opportunity to talk to each other via video conference (current information can be found on the self-help group page). Face-to-face counselling sessions are also possible, provided our volunteer counsellors feel able to do so. Counselling by telephone and video conference is still available.

If you are interested or have any questions, please contact us on 030 86 39 57 01. If necessary, leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are happy to hear from you!

Your Team from ApK
